Crystal Lagoons to open first crystal clear lagoon in US in February 2018
The first lagoon developed by Crystal Lagoons in the United States is just months away from being a reality. US media have reported that the nation’s first lagoon developed by Crystal Lagoons is scheduled to open in early spring 2018 in the Epperson development in Wesley Chapel.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, “the revelation came as Metro officials provided journalists with a tour of the 7.5-acre man-made lagoon that already contained the initial pockets of what eventually will be 16 million gallons of purified water. The crystal clear lagoon measures more than six football fields long and four-fifths of a mile around. Filling the lagoon is expected to take eight to 12 weeks, because the company can pump 250,000 gallons daily into the pool as it uses water during off-peak consumption for the rest of the county’s water customers”.
The crystal clear lagoon is the centerpiece amenity in the 2,000-home Epperson development, in Pasco, and is expected to become home to 96,000 people over the next decades.
The first Crystal Lagoons project in the United States is breaking all sales records.
According to a report of the US real estate market, carried out by the independent consultancy Metrostudy, this project, which is still in the pre-construction stage, recorded an average sales increase of more than 20% during the first half of 2017.
This figure compares with a modest increase of between 1% and 4% average for the 3 competing Epperson projects, which do not incorporate a crystal clear lagoon. Also, the pace of sales in this development is double that of the adjacent projects.
The report also projects that the prices of Epperson units will continue to rise, as the lagoon with Crystal Lagoons technology advances in its construction and opens in February 2018.
This record is in addition to what was registered when the project, developed by Crystal Lagoons in partnership with Metro Development Group, was launched for sale at the end of 2016. On that occasion, with only one billboard marketing the development, there were 2,753 interested home buyers on a wait list to live in the community. Immediately following the event, the total number of inquiries reached 3,278. Having hit sales targets in record time, home prices were raised twice within ten days after the groundbreaking ceremony.
Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
