Crystal Lagoons Amenities are Making a Splash in Middle East and Africa

The technology provided by Crystal Lagoons® to create clear, turquoise lagoons in any part of the world is making a splash in countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Its environment-friendly technology is a blueprint for building crystalline lagoons of unlimited size anywhere in the world, from the arid Arabian deserts to the center of an urban metropolis, since the lagoons use 100 times fewer chemicals than traditional swimming pools and consume 98% less energy than regular filtration systems.

For the Crystal Lagoons team in Africa, the hope is to “revolutionize” the market by allowing developers to bring Caribbean-style crystalline waters to projects without significant investment.

Although Crystal Lagoons is based in the US, the multinational has 16 international offices. With patented technology on all 5 continents, the company known for its modern technology and innovation has several projects on the go in the Middle East between offices in the UAE and Egypt, where Crystal Lagoons is seeing strong interest from developers in particular in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

The MENA market keeps growing for Crystal Lagoons, and company representatives have their eye on four markets this year: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan. Egypt is a surprisingly big market for Crystal Lagoons, where it has been able to enter big gated community projects.

Another reason for its success is due to the fact that the Egyptian property market is mature enough to buy and fully optimize the company’s high-end technology, since the lagoons are cheap to build and maintain. This in turn means that costs needn’t be passed on to residents.

In fact, one of the company’s most notable projects is in Egypt, where the regional flagship for the company can be found in Sharm El Sheikh. The 12.5-hectare manmade lagoon, which holds the current Guinness World Record in a growing list of global accolades, was named the largest manmade crystalline lagoon in the world in 2015. This breaks the company’s own previous record, with its eight-hectare San Alfonso del Mar crystalline lagoon in Chile, the Guinness World Record holder since 2007. The award has sparked interest in several developers in the region.

The artificial lagoon manufacturer is currently pushing a concept in Egypt, Jordan, UAE, and Saudi Arabia: Public Access Lagoons (PALs), a pay-as-you-go product that will transform entertainment complexes by making beaches available anywhere in the world. The idea could be introduced at a host of venues, including university campuses, sporting arenas, shopping centers, and racing tracks.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystalline water lagoons at very low costs.
