With an area of 8 hectares, a length of over 1 km, 2.5 meters of maximum depth and a volume of 250 thousand m3, San Alfonso del Mar´s lagoon was certified in 2007 as the world’s largest crystal clear lagoon by the Guinness World Records. In 2015, Crystal Lagoons broke its own previous Guinness World Record with a 12.5-hectare mega lagoon in Citystars Sharm El Sheikh tourism development, located in the middle of the desert in one of Egypt’s most luxurious coastal areas.
