Michael Phelps to attend opening of Crystal Lagoons’ latest project in Houston
On August 23, the renowned swimmer and worldwide ambassador of Crystal Lagoons®, Michael Phelps, will headline the opening of the latest project to be presented by the multinational specialized in water innovation in U.S., which on this occasion is located in Balmoral, Houston. It will be the second largest man-made crystalline lagoon in the United States, said Kevin P. Morgan, Executive Vice-president of Crystal Lagoons US Corp.
The artificial lagoon sits on 2-acres (1 hectare) within the 750-acres included in the project, which includes 1,700-homes. The lagoon will be as deep as eight feet and have two beaches for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddle boarding.
The crystalline lagoon uses an ultrasonic wave pulse filtration system which uses just 1% of chemicals and 2% of the energy of a conventional swimming pool filtration system, the Houston Chronicle reported.
“We are excited to open our very first crystalline lagoon in Texas, as just one of many tropical style lagoons we expect to develop across the state,” said Morgan. “Within the next few years, Texas will be our leading U.S. market. Our projects represent the future of outdoor lifestyle amenities, while also bringing enormous value to real estate projects such as Balmoral.”
Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystalline lagoons at very low costs.
