Michael Phelps, Crystal Lagoons Ambassador, Opens First Lagoon in Texas
The Balmoral real estate project in Houston, Texas, marks a major change in lifestyle for residents. Not only does it mark the opening of the very first man-made lagoon by Crystal Lagoons in the state, but it also means that local residents will no longer need to travel hours to the coast to be able to dip in crystalline waters as they will now have a beach on their doorstep.
The grand opening of the development, which consists of a two-acre man-made turquoise lagoon featuring two white sand beaches along with 200 palm trees, was attended by Michael Phelps, the most renowned swimmer of all times and ambassador for Crystal Lagoons.
During his speech, the athlete said: “For me water has always been such an important part of my life,” said Michael Phelps. “So to have this opportunity and to give this to so many different communities… I look at it and I smile, because I like seeing the water and the sunshine and I like sticking my toes in the sand. It’s so peaceful, so relaxing”.
“This is a dream come true, to basically have a beach in your backyard. For me this is pure happiness, pure excitement. For me and my family,” he added.
Balmoral is part of a growing portfolio of 21 paradisiacal lagoons that the water-innovation multinational is currently developing within the United States. Another 110 developments at various stages of development are currently underway.
Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystalline water lagoons at very low costs.
