Playa Turquesa Will Have World’s Second Largest Lagoon
02/05/2020
32 acres of crystalline waters will anchor the Playa Turquesa project located in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. It will be the world’s second largest to function with Crystal Lagoons® technology.
It will supersede the lagoon at Citystars Sharm El Sheik in Egypt (30 acres) and will come second to Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City District One, in Dubai, which totals 98 acres.
In total, two complexes, including Playa Turquesa, bring idyllic beach life to the Mediterranean area of Urubó. The first was Mar Adentro, inaugurated during 2019, the second is expected to open in the coming months.
Both lagoons use Crystal Lagoons technology, patented in 190 countries, that allows for the creation of pure turquoise bodies of water of unlimited size, with low construction and maintenance costs.
Furthermore, this technology is eco-friendly, as it can use any type of water and requires a minimum of additives and energy.
In Latin America, the multinational innovation company continues to see exponential growth with new developments in different stages of operation, planning, design and construction in Paraguay, Argentina, Peru, Mexico, Chile, among others.
