SouthShore Bay is a real estate project in Wimauma, Florida, USA, created exclusively for adults over 55 who wish to maintain an active social life. A few days ago, a large 2-hectare lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons® technology was inaugurated with a sector exclusively for residents.
The project has now received authorization for the remaining area of the lagoon to operate under the Public Access Lagoons™ model, also known as PAL™ model. Thus, those who do not reside in the development will be able to enjoy the body of turquoise water and white sand beaches by paying an entrance fee.
The lagoon at SouthShore Bay is Metro Development’s Group’s second such amenity in the Tampa Bay region. The Epperson development in Wesley Chapel opened its crystalline lagoon, the first in the United States, in late 2018. Metro Development plans a third lagoon at its Mirada development in Pasco County and has several projects in different stages of development.
In addition to the monumental lagoon with crystalline waters that will allow the practice of various water sports and the white sand beach, other amenities that the project integrates are restaurants, swim-up bars and entertainment areas, among others.
Southshore Bay is approved for nearly 3,000 homes on 680 acres. So far, 630 homes are built or under construction.
At Epperson, current cost for an adult day pass to nonresidents is $10, according to its website, but the price can be as high as $35 depending on seasonal demand.
