The Hong Kong edition of Vogue magazine has named Crystal Lagoons® San Alfonso del Mar lagoon as an unmissable, “must-visit” destination. In its #SummerInVogue list, it lists the unique lagoon as one of the “most amazing” places to swim in, making it an ideal destination for water sports fanatics.
Found off the coast of Chile, in Algarrobo, the crystalline lagoon is 1,013 meters long spanning over a total of 20 acres, equivalent to 6,000 traditional pools, which granted it the Guinness World Record up until 2015, when it another of Crystal Lagoons amenities, in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt, was inaugurated. It has maintained this world record ever since.
San Alfonso del Mar, the first project in the world to use this innovative technology, quickly became the “most successful second home resort in the southern hemisphere”.
The pure turquoise lagoon continues to revolutionize the local landscape, not only by providing residents and visitors of San Alfonso del Mar with an attractive and safe area for aquatic activities but also by offering spectacular views which in turn allowed for the development of other resort and relaxation-based businesses and facilities centered around the new sea-side resort lagoon. All of which transformed and revitalized the entire community of the area.
