Residents of the SouthShore Bay project in Wimauma, Florida, USA, are experiencing a revolution in their lifestyle. The 2-hectare crystalline lagoon developed with Crystal Lagoons® technology brought a piece of the Caribbean to their doorstep, preventing have to travel long distances to enjoy the beach
This is highlighted by those who live in this community. “Before we had to drive 45 minutes to get to the beach and now we have a beach right here. It’s amazing,” says Donald Lovett.
In the surroundings of this turquoise oasis, it is possible for people to carry out various leisure activities such as listening to live music, going on the slide, playing in the obstacle course or doing yoga.
The lagoon is Metro Development’s Group’s second such amenity in the Tampa Bay region. The Epperson development in Wesley Chapel opened its crystalline lagoon, the first in the United States, in late 2018. Metro Development plans a third lagoon at its Mirada development in Pasco County and has several projects in different stages of development.
SouthShore Bay is created exclusively for adults over 55 who wish to maintain an active social life, with an exclusive sector and restricted access, while the rest of the lagoon will works under the Public Access Lagoons™ model, also known as PAL™ developments, allowing those who do not reside in the development to enjoy it, upon payment of an entrance ticket.
In addition to the monumental lagoon with crystalline waters that will allow the practice of various water sports and the white sand beach, other amenities that the project integrates are restaurants, swim-up bars and entertainment areas, among others.
